Reclaim Focus founder, Christina Bengtsson, was raised on a quiet family farm in Sweden. At the age of 23, Christina decided to become a champion in shooting. She applied to the military service to be close to the shooting range and practised night and day until she became a world champion precision shooter.
Christina excelled in the art of shooting thanks to her precision, discipline, and persistence. She became the first woman admitted to the national shooting team of the Swedish Armed Forces and the first to hold the position of Chief of the European Liaison Office to the Conseil International Du Sport Militaire.
Through over thousands of hours of practice, it all came down to one essential element: focus. Demand for Christina’s insights grew and, eventually, she became a focus icon, delivering speeches and lectures to audiences worldwide.
After receiving hundreds of letters from people who had lost their focus, it became clear that a lack of focus was universal. Christina saw the profound impact this lack of focus has on human society and personal wellbeing. From harming productivity in the workplace to limiting our ability to make informed decisions and preventing us from connecting on a deeper level.
Christina came from a world where focus was elevated and respected as a necessary skill, and stepped into a world where short-term attitudes, quick-fixes, fragmentation, attention addiction and time poverty were the norm.
She realised that one woman alone could not create a whole new reality. But through collaboration, she could build a movement that could create positive change and unite people around the power of focus.
And so Reclaim Focus was born as a community of responsible organisations working together to instil focus in a fragmented society and move our world from a collective blur to a united focus.
Today Reclaim Focus, not only gives people the tools to unlock their cognitive and emotional potential and empower their freedom. Reclaim Focus also strives to secure the ability to focus for future generations and persistently finding new and exciting ways to inspire the world to focus.
Mission
Reclaim Focus is a movement of organisations working together to instil focus in a fragmented world.
In a world competing for attention at every turn, it is time to reclaim our focus and treat our attention with respect.
What is focus
Focus is about the ability to listen, about the ability to learn, to resist impulses, and think on our own. It is our ability to stay on target, ignore distractions, maintain control and perform with quality. Focus is the essential capability that makes us human.
How we do it
We are building a community of individuals and organisations who understand the potential of focus. We are working with leading scientists, neurological and business organisations to collaborate towards the development of a Focus Theory of Change.
